Since I'm always wanting to try new methods of computer interaction, it was only a matter of time before I picked up a Kinect for Windows. Here are some of the more interesting projects I've developed.

Lightsabers!

My first attempt at Kinect programming. The Kinect tracks both hand positions and the program overlays the single bladed lightsabers at an angle based the hand and elbow positions. When both hands are in a position to hold a double bladed lightsaber, the program automatically switches over. There is also appropriate sound effects when swinging the lightsabers.

Air Drums

Another project heavily based on hand positions. When a downward motion is detected on the drum overlay, the sound is played. Similarly, a cymbal crash sound is played when a rightwardly moving hand crosses the cymbal overlay. Both instruments can be played with either hand.
